V FMJ - with the central theme “Judiciary, Environment and Human Rights”, for the first time, the V World Forum of Judges will be held in Belém in northern Brazil, aiming to promote the identification of countries with a democratic judiciary engaged and concerned with social inclusion. The event takes place at the same time as the World Social Forum, also to be held in Belém in January 2009.

“The Forum shall be a venue where judges can echo the voices of the excluded and the discontentment that permeates our society”, stated the Chairman of Amatra 8, Gabriel Napoleão Veloso, who also spoke of how pleased he was that magistrates from Pará were able to bring the V World Forum of Judges to Belém.
